Abstract

Mosquitoes are very harmful insects for humans because they cause malaria, dengue fever, etc. Klepusanggar village has many places that can potentially serve as breeding grounds for mosquitoes, such as rice fields and yard areas. These environmental conditions mean that many mosquitoes breed in Klepusanggar village. Prevention to reduce the spread of mosquitoes in Klepusanggar village is usually done by Fooging which if done continuously can harm the respiratory tract. KKN Reguler Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto group 13 in collaboration with the local Health Office conducted counseling on the dangers of mosquito attacks on health and training in making natural mosquito repellent sprays made from lemongrass and lime.  The purpose of this activity is to maintain public health from diseases caused by mosquito bites, reduce the use of synthetic chemical insecticides which are also harmful to health, as well as an effort to realize one of the SDGs points, namely a healthy and prosperous life. The methods used in this activity are counseling, training and mentoring. The community conducted a pre-test and post-test to find out the follow-up that must be done after this activity. The results of this activity are that the community audience knows more about how to prevent mosquito breeding, knows and understands how to make natural mosquito repellent spray made from lemongrass and lime. According to previous research, the combination of lemongrass and lime can effectively kill mosquitoes because it contains essential oils, geraniol and citronella.
