Abstract

This article explores the implementation of halal principles in the production of roasted tea (teh sangrai) by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Plorengan Village, Kalibening District, Banjarnegara Regency. Halal certification serves as a crucial competitive advantage in predominantly Muslim markets, ensuring both religious compliance and consumer trust. This community service project aims to assist local MSMEs in adopting halal practices through observation, interviews, and training sessions. The findings reveal that while raw materials are inherently halal, production and packaging processes require adjustments to fully meet halal standards. The project successfully increased MSMEs’ understanding of halal principles, encouraged cleaner production environments, and strengthened branding strategies centered on halal values. These improvements are expected to expand market reach and enhance the sustainability of MSMEs in Plorengan Village.
