Community Service Program in Batursari Village, Pulosari Sub-district, Pemalang Regency aimed to bridge academic theory with practical environmental management through the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot cultivation program as a solution for organic waste processing. The program involved students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, focusing on empowering the local community to utilize organic waste as poultry and fish feed with economic value. The implementation methods included observation, counseling, and maggot cultivation training. The results indicated an improvement in the community’s understanding of environmental issues and skills in maggot cultivation, as well as a significant reduction in household organic waste volume. Challenges encountered included limited supporting facilities and the need for further training to ensure program sustainability. In conclusion, the Community Service Program successfully implemented an environmentally-based community empowerment concept, resulting in positive changes in waste management practices, enhancement of residents’ skills, and the creation of sustainable new business opportunities.
