Abstract

This study explores the methods of making jakaba mushrooms and how it can be used to improve plant growth and health, specifically in Dawuhan Village, located in Wanayasa District, Banjarnegara Regency. The aim of this activity, carried out by KKN Group 073 students from Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto, is to increase community knowledge about agriculture, particularly on how to use jakaba mushrooms. This research is based on the fact that farmers do not have sufficient knowledge about the production and use of jakaba mushrooms. JAKABA liquid fertilizer was chosen because it is easy to make, inexpensive, and accessible, and it has many benefits for plants, including enhancing plant resilience, repairing damaged cell tissues, and stimulating the growth of new shoots. Planning, implementation, and evaluation are three steps in the training and outreach process.

Research results show that this training and extension has been successful. The planning stage consists of conducting demographic surveys, creating a training plan, preparing extension materials, and preparing tools and materials. The implementation stage consists of disseminating materials about the benefits, advantages, and disadvantages of JAKABA mushrooms, as well as the production of JAKABA mushrooms. The evaluation stage includes discussions and further monitoring of the application of JAKABA mushrooms in the rice fields owned by the residents of Dawuhan Village.
