Konsep Dasar Postmemory Marianne Hirsch untuk Kajian Sastra

Tulisan ini berusaha menjelajahi, mengabstraksi, dan menyimpulkan konsep-konsep dasar postmemory Marianne Hirsch dan kemudian menawarkan sebagai kajian sastra. Konsep-konsep dasar itu didasarkan pada dua bukunya yaitu Family Frames: Photography Narrative and Postmemory (2012), dan The Generation of Postmemory: Writing and Visual Culture After the Holocaust (2012). Penjelajahan itu juga merupakan upaya memahami kerangka teori/paradigma postmemory. Dari upaya pengabtraksian dapat ditemukan beberapa hal penting; postmemory selalu adalah mengenai memori trauma, sehingga kajiannya juga mengenai trauma; memori traumatis dapat ditransmisikan; memori traumatis tidak hanya yang terjadi dalam lingkup keluarga tetapi juga afiliatif (di luar keluarga); karya sastra yang dapat dikaji adalah karya sastra yang ditulis oleh generasi kedua pewaris trauma; yang diperlukan dari generasi kedua tersebut adalah investasi imajinasinya atas trauma (bukan fakta sejarahnya).
