Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) in Sidoagung Village, Sruweng Subdistrict, Kebumen, Central Java, aims to address issues related to domestic waste management, particularly organic waste, which has not been managed effectively. The program was conducted from August 2 to 3, 2025, involving the installation of biopore holes at 15 locations. Biopore technology is expected to enhance air infiltration, accelerate the decomposition of organic waste into compost, and reduce waste volume by 30-50%. The initiative also includes community outreach and education on the benefits, construction process, and maintenance of biopore holes. The program’s outcomes demonstrate significant potential in improving soil quality, groundwater availability, and supporting environmental sustainability. Additionally, the program contributes to raising public awareness about the importance of proper waste management. The success of the program heavily depends on active community participation in waste management from its source. It is hoped that this initiative can serve as a model for other villages in creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment. Through the application of this simple technology, it is expected to reduce pollution and improve the quality of life for villagers.
