Inovasi MPASI dari Pangan Lokal: Solusi Ketahanan Pangan dan Pencegahan Stunting di Wilayah Pedesaan

The local food–based complementary feeding (MPASI) innovation program was implemented in Wlahar Village, Adipala District, Cilacap Regency, aiming to improve mothers’ knowledge and skills in preparing nutritious complementary foods to prevent stunting. This program employed a demonstration method involving 12 mothers of children aged 6–24 months at Posyandu Teratai IV. The introduced innovative menu was pakcoy pudding, selected for its high nutritional value and easy availability in the local environment. The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge from 41.67% to 83.33% in the high category, and 80% of participants were able to practice preparing pakcoy pudding according to the correct procedure. A total of 91.6% of participants stated that the demonstration method made it easier to understand the cooking process, and 83.3% were motivated to try other local-based MPASI variations. These findings demonstrate that the demonstration method is effective in enhancing skills and encouraging mothers’ creativity in utilizing local food ingredients. The use of pakcoy not only supports household food security but also serves as a preventive strategy against stunting through improved balanced nutritional intake for toddlers.
