Abstract

Stunting due to chronic nutritional deficits in Indonesia (prevalence 24.4%) is the focus of intervention in Pucungkerep Village, Wonosobo, where access to nutritious food, maternal nutrition literacy, and dietary diversity are limited. This community service introduces an innovation for stunting prevention through the utilization of moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera)—rich in protein (8.1g/100g), calcium, iron, and vitamins A/C—processed into agar. Implementation methods include: (1) stunting case survey; (2) stunting education and moringa benefits counseling with pretest/posttest; (3) introduction of moringa leaf agar production at the hamlet head's residence (August 12, 2025) involving 10 breastfeeding mothers/toddler caregivers. Paired t-test results show a significant increase in participants' understanding (pretest: 69.09 ±17.58; posttest: 85.45 ±12.93; *p*=0.001; Cohen's *d*=1.36). High enthusiasm for the agar was observed due to its soft texture, sweet taste, and practicality as a Supplementary Food (PMT). The intervention’s strengths lie in its participatory approach, ease of replication, and local-potential-based empowerment. Conclusion: Introducing moringa leaf agar production and stunting education improves mothers' understanding of utilizing moringa agar for stunting prevention.
