Abstract

Belik District, Pemalang Regency, has significant potential for honey pineapple production, which has not been fully optimized into a marketable processed product. Pineapple jelly candy production training in Dukuh Karang Hamlet, Bulakan Village, was conducted by the Community Service Team Group 087 of Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. This method utilizes local potential in the form of natural and human resources to improve the skills and economic independence of the community. The training involved 10 residents and 11 KKN students, through asset mapping, planning, jelly candy making demonstrations, and evaluations with pre- and post-tests. The main ingredients used were local honey pineapple with the addition of sugar, gelatin, and carrageenan. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in technical understanding and community interest in pineapple processing. The average increase in understanding reached 35%, with the highest increase in knowledge of the production stages (100%). The program successfully provided new skills, encouraged the use of local resources, and opened up business opportunities based on processed pineapple products. These findings confirm the effectiveness of the ABCD approach in community empowerment and are expected to be replicated in other areas with similar potential.
