Abstrak

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a serious public health issue in Indonesia, including in Logede Village, Kebumen Regency, which is classified as an endemic area. The use of synthetic insecticides for vector control often leads to mosquito resistance, environmental pollution, and health risks, highlighting the need for environmentally friendly alternatives. This study aims to describe the process of producing lemongrass-based mosquito repellent spray, the community's involvement, and the role of Larvae Monitoring Cadres (Juru Pemantau Jentik / Jumantik), as well as the product’s potential sustainability as a DHF prevention measure. The research employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, involving students from the Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, Jumantik, and residents. Activities included problem identification, planning, training on spray production, observation, and reflection. The results indicate strong community acceptance of the lemongrass spray, citing its safety, pleasant aroma, ease of production, and effectiveness in repelling mosquitoes. The program enhanced public awareness of environmentally friendly vector control, reduced dependence on chemical products, and created opportunities for developing the spray as a local household product. In conclusion, a lemongrass-based spray shows potential as a sustainable innovation for DHF prevention, while empowering the local community.
