Abstract

Liquid organic fertilizer from rice washing water is an innovation in the use of household waste that contains various important nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, iron, and vitamin B1. The making of POC is carried out by mixing rice washing water, brown sugar as a carbon source, and effective microorganisms (EM4) and then fermented for 10-15 days in a closed container. This fermentation process converts complex organic compounds into easily absorbed forms of plants and increases populations of beneficial microorganisms that improve soil fertility and plant growth. The results of the study showed that Liquid Organic Fertilizer from rice washing water was effective in increasing plant height, leaf count, and overall plant health. In addition, this Liquid Organic Fertilizer can reduce the use of chemical fertilizers, reduce production costs, and be environmentally friendly because it utilizes organic waste. With an easy manufacturing process, liquid organic fertilizer from rice washing water is a promising alternative solution to support sustainable agriculture and maintain long-term soil quality.
