Eco-Enzyme as a Sustainable Innovation: Converting Household Organic Waste into Agricultural and Health Benefits
Keywords:
eco-enzyme, organic waste, organic farming, community serviceAbstract
This community service activity aims to provide education and practical skills in producing eco-enzyme from household organic waste, such as fruit scraps and peels. The program involves students participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) and organic farming practitioners in Grenggeng Village, Karanganyar District, Kebumen Regency. The activity was conducted on August 12, 2025, through training and counseling methods. The stages included raw material collection, fermentation processes, and education on the agricultural and health benefits of eco-enzyme. The results showed that participants successfully produced two types of eco-enzyme: classic eco-enzyme, which is safe for consumption, and non-consumable eco-enzyme for agricultural purposes and topical treatment. This activity contributes to reducing household organic waste and promoting environmentally friendly organic farming practices.
